Brunswick Man Pleads Guilty to Posting Ads on Craigslist to Entice a Minor to Have Sex

Richard Edward Woodward, age 52, of Brunswick, Maryland, pleaded guilty today to using a computer to entice a minor to have sex.

        The guilty plea was announced by United States Attorney for the District of Maryland  Rod J. Rosenstein; Special Agent in Charge Richard A. McFeely of the Federal Bureau of Investigation; and Frederick County Sheriff Chuck Jenkins.

Maryland Early Voting

ANNAPOLIS, Maryland (WUSA)-- For the general election, early voting centers will be open starting Friday October 22, 2010 through Thursday, October 28, 2010, except for Sunday, October 24th when early voting centers are closed.

Early voting centers will be open from 10 am until 8 pm each day of early voting. Anyone in line at 8 pm will be allowed to vote.

FREE Scary Face Pancakes This Friday at IHOP

No Tricks – Just Treats As Kids 12 And Under Celebrate Halloween A Little Early

IHOP restaurants in the DC area will celebrate Halloween a little early this year, offering kids 12 and under a free Scary Face Pancake as part of a national No Tricks – Just Treats program designed to provide kids with a safe and fun Halloween event.  The “design-your-own” Scary Face Pancake includes an oversized signature buttermilk pancake with a whipped topping mouth and strawberry nose, served with two mini OREO® cookies and candy corn on the side to allow kids to create their own Halloween hotcake. 

IHOP wants to provide trick or treaters with a safe and fun Halloween celebration that they can enjoy with friends and family as part of the company’s ongoing effort to give something back to the communities in which it operates.

Community Support Enriches Education- Grants Exceed $7,000 for School Projects

Public school students benefit each year from generous donations to the Community Foundation of Frederick County. This year, grants from the Gifts for Education Frederick County Public Schools Endowment Fund and the Franklin and Bess Gladhill Fund for Agriculture Education are supporting student enrichment projects at 17 schools to the tune of more than $7,000.

      Receiving grants from the Gifts for Education Fund:

FCBI Investigates Stolen Credit Card

The Maryland State Police responded to Gold’s Gym on Buckeystown Pike in Frederick for a report of stolen credit cards. Information on the scene indicated that credit cards and personal belongings were stolen from a locker. A short time later the victim’s credit cards were used at local businesses to make fraudulent purchases estimated at $1500.

The investigation revealed that earlier in the day two females toured the gym. During their visit, the two women were seen entering the ladies room where the lockers are located.

The women are described as follows:
Suspect #1: Black female, 5’3”, petite, wearing blue jeans, with a dark shirt.
Suspect #2: Black female, heavy set, with long hair (possibly extensions), wearing black shorts and a white shirt. She had a tattoo on the inside of her left arm.
