Clagett Triplets’ Biography

What are the chances of being born spontaneous identical triplets? Many put the odds at one in 200 million!

What are the odds of being cast in a major Warner Brothers movie, after a national search, at the age of 15 months with no experience, no resume, and no headshots?  Slim at best.

Frederick Family Poised to Hold 4 Political Offices At Once

FREDERICK, Md. (WUSA) -- A well-known political family in Frederick may be poised to make county history by holding four local elected offices at once if voters elect the family members now on the ballot November 2.

If Ron Young, 69, and sons Brad, 45, and Blaine, 39, win their elections, the trio will simultaneously gain seats in state and county offices. They'll join Ron's third wife, currently serving Frederick Alderman Karen L. Young (D), in elected office to make it a Young political quartet.

The family's political history goes back to 1974, when Ron Young first took office as Frederick's Mayor, where he served for 16 years. Blaine's history includes previous stints as a city alderman and county commissioner. Brad has served on the Democratic party's Central Committee. But never have all four family members served at the same time.

Ron is running as a Democrat for the District 3 Senate seat now held by incumbent Republican Alex Mooney.

Dozens Of Tires Slashed in Frederick Neighborhood

FREDERICK, Md. (WUSA) Don Fletcher was not amused Sunday morning. His work van had two tires slashed in front of his home on Hillcrest Drive in Frederick. The landscaping contractor will need to miss a day of work. "I have four kids and two senior citizens to support and this is something I can't afford"

Fletcher wasn't alone, police say at least 31 vehicles, some of them work vans and trucks had one or two of their tires slashed while they were parked on the side streets near the intersection of Butterfly Lane and Hillcrest Drive in Frederick.

Maryland Cell Phone Ban Begins

Maryland residents and those residents who travel through Maryland need to know that on Friday, October 1, 2010 (this Friday) - cell phone use will become illegal while driving. The offense will be a "secondary" offense, meaning that offenders can only be cited with it if they are pulled over for another primary offense like speeding or running a red light.

Beginning on Friday, people who wish to make a call while driving MUST use a hands free device. The fine will be $40 for the first offense and $100 for subsequent violations of the law.

Texting while driving has been illegal for some time now and already carries a fine.

Maryland is following suit with several other states with cellular phone bans while in operation of a motor vehicle, but it is one of the only (if not the only) state to list the law as a "secondary" offense.

Tired of Stink Bugs?

News outlets all over the Mid-Atlantic region have been reporting on the recent invasion of Stink Bugs (also called Shield Bugs). While the creatures are not really harmful to humans, they can destroy crops and plants (not to mention they can be a real annoyance for the average joe.

Especially annoying are the countless stink bugs clinging to thee exterior doors of homes that easily crawl or fly in with ease when the doors are opened. Just how can we rid ourselves of these pests?

Quite a few of the currently available news stories suggest a method known as "exclusion" to deter the little pests from entering the home. However, this doesn't really cover the annoyance of them gaining access via an open door or the annoyance of getting bombarded by them around the outside of your house.

With a little knowledge and some basic equipment, even the average homeowner can rid themselves or at least get some relief from the stink bug invasion.
