D.C. Restaurant Week Isn't Only Limited to D.C Residents

January 17th was the start date of one of D.C’s most coveted traditions: Restaurant Week.  Local residents get the opportunity to try the city’s best fine dining at a reasonable price.

But what about residents who live just outside of D.C.’s borders? Do you live in Maryland and are afraid you can’t join the fun? No worries, there are some high end restaurants in the Maryland area that are participating.

I spoke with Chung Nguyen, head bartender at Lia’s in Chevy Chase, Md. about why the restaurant enjoys being a part of D.C. Restaurant Week.“It brings higher volume here and gives people the chance to experience the quality of our food,” he said.

“We have good deals on special menus,” says David, a host at Jaleo in Bethesda.  “It’s an opportunity to show people our best dishes. Here, you get to choose three tapas and a dessert for $20 dollars for lunch and for dinner its four tapas and a dessert for $35. It’s a pretty good deal. It’s a good deal money wise for people because they can save money and they get to eat a lot of stuff on the menu.”

The 17th annual Washington, DC Restaurant Week  will be held from January 17-23, 2011.
