Top Chef Winner and Runner-Up (Brothers!) Host Dinner for Share Our Strength

Chef BRYAN VOLTAGGIO OF VOLT RESTAURANT will co-host along with his brother Michael a very special dinner on Tuesday, September 28, 2010, for Share Our Strength®, the leading national organization ending childhood hunger in America. The dinner is part of the organization's national touring dinner series, A Tasteful Pursuit®, and will support the organization's efforts to end childhood hunger in the State of Maryland.

The evening will begin with a reception at 6:30 p.m. and continue with an eight-course meal beginning at 7:30 p.m.  Tickets are $1000 per person and special dining opportunities are available with chef's kitchen seating at $2,500, $10,000 and $15,000.  Make reservations by calling 888-273-6141 or visit ATastefulPursuit.org.

At least 207,000 children in Maryland struggle with hunger.  In November 2008, Share Our Strength launched the Partnership to End Childhood Hunger in Maryland, a strong and growing coalition of public, private, and non-profit organizations working together to surround kids with nutritious food where they live, learn and play.  With leadership from Governor O'Malley, the Partnership has invested in successful strategies to increase access to existing food programs like school breakfast and lunch, summer meals, and food stamps.

Bryan and Michael Voltaggio will prepare an eight-course meal with beverage pairings for a limited number of guests at VOLT Restaurant to support these efforts.  This is the first time the chefs have cooked together in Maryland, and at VOLT, since leaving to embark on their culinary careers.

"My family and I are so blessed and I feel grateful to be in a position to give back to those less fortunate in any way that I can," said Bryan Voltaggio. "Michael and I grew up in Maryland so it is especially important to support Share Our Strength's Partnership to End Childhood Hunger in Maryland that will have a positive impact in our own backyard.  Children deserve every chance in life to succeed and it starts with the basic, three meals a day.  It is not a privilege - it is a human right."

The evening also includes a live auction hosted by one the country's most sought-after corporate entertainers, Billy Harris.  Guests will have the opportunity to bid on fabulous culinary items, featuring exclusive kitchen tools selected by Voltaggio Brothers through Williams-Sonoma, and travel items during the evening's silent and live auctions.

Stella Artois is the official beer sponsor of Share Our Strength's A Tasteful Pursuit® events in 2010.  Attendees will enjoy Stella Artois paired with a dish crafted by one of the participating chefs to enhance the beers' flavor and aromas.
