“Make Some Noyes” as you jump into the New Year with a winter festival of dancing, games and crafts for the whole family. The January dance party to support the Noyes Children’s Library in Kensington, MD, will be a high-energy afternoon with plenty of ways to entertain kids. Back by popular demand are D.J. Chris Allotey and Dance Leader Aaron Anderson – guaranteed to get families jumpin’ and jammin’! In addition to dancing, there will be games and crafts for the whole family. Concessions and Noyes t-shirts will be available for sale.

“Make Some Noyes” is on Saturday, January 21, 2012, 3-5pm, at Kensington Town Hall (3710 Mitchell St., Kensington, MD 20895). Cost is $10 per person with a maximum charge of $25 per family. (Children 12 months and under are free.) Pay at the door with cash, check or charge.  Proceeds go directly to helping keep open the Noyes Library for Young Children in Kensington.

The “Make Some Noyes” Family Dance Parties are community events organized by the Noyes Children’s Library Foundation to raise funds for and create awareness of the historic Noyes Children’s Library and its early literacy initiatives. Noyes, part of the Montgomery County Public Library System, was scheduled to be closed in July 2010 due to budget reasons, but the resulting public outcry re-activated the Foundation that had been created during a similar budget crisis in 1991.
