The 4th Annual Brotherhood Ride To Honor 9/11/01 Fallen Heroes


On September 11, 2001 a total of 411 emergency service workers who responded to the Twin Towers died, as they attempted to rescue people and fight fires.  The New York City Fire Department lost 343 firefighters.  The New York City Police Department lost 23 officers.  The Port Authority Police Department lost 37 officers and 8 additional EMTs and paramedics from private EMS were killed.

Meet and greet the riders staying at the Emmitsburg Volunteer Ambulance Company during their journey to New York on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 beginning @ 4pm.

Although Hurricane Irene is long gone, her fury is still being felt by millions of east coast residents as they wade through her aftermath in an attempt to return to normalcy.  From severe flooding to lost power and water supply, the stories of all of our friends in all our communities affected are as expansive as those who have felt her aftermath.

There will be a car wash to benefit the Richardson children on Wednesday August 10, 2011 from 8:00 am - 6:00 pm at the Frederick Shell Gas Station on Rt. 40.  This car wash will benefit the Richardson Children's Fund.  This fund was created to help support the four children, ages 6, 8, 10 & 16 that were left behind when Ms. Tranice Richardson was tragically murdered on July 8th.

The goal of this fund is to raise at least $20,000 to be used for the needs of Ms. Richardson's four children and most importantly show that the Community will Come Together and Stand Up when a citizen is in need. This fund will be held by Frederick Alliance For Youth.  

Checks can be made payable to:  Frederick Alliance For Youth and in the "memo" section simply write "Richardson Children".

City Administration will be stopping by along with some of the Frederick Police lending a hand in support.


Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley visited Takoma Park's National Night Out!


National Night Out is celebrated by police departments across the nation as a unique crime/drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW).

On Tuesday, August 2nd, Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley joined the Takoma Park Police Department for their annual National Night Out at the Piney Branch Elementary School, 7510 Maple Avenue.

The Takoma Park Police Department’s goal is to heighten safety and crime prevention awareness; to support locally based businesses, groups, and organizations; and to strengthen relationships among community members and between the community and local police department all while having fun!

“One of the biggest priorities we have is reducing crime and making our neighborhoods safer,” said Governor Martin O’Malley.
