Walmart Sponsors America I AM: The African-American Imprint Exhibition and Offers Discounted Tickets

BENTONVILLE, Ark. (Jan. 24, 2011) – Walmart (NYSE:WMT), the presenting sponsor of the America I AM: The African-American Imprint tour, will offer specially-priced tickets at select Walmart stores in the Washington, D.C. area.  America I AM is a four-year touring museum exhibition that celebrates nearly 500 years of African-American contributions to this country.  To help give families the opportunity to enjoy this special experience, Walmart is offering tickets at the lowest available price: $10 for adults and $5 for children.  The discounted prices are 17 percent off standard ticket prices.

On February 7th from 5:30pm-9pm, the Patriots Technology Training Center will host its 2nd annual Bio Medical Competition at the U.S. National Library of Medicine, 8600 Rockville Pike, in Bethesda MD  20894.  Their goal is to encourage students to further their interest in various medical fields.  Please visit their website (www.patriots-ttc.org) to view the 2010 Bio-Medical Competition co-sponsored by The Library of Medicine.

Eight high school and one home school team will present a five-page research paper, brochure, slide show, one-page web site, display board, and an oral presentation on one of the medical careers listed below:

Candlelight Tour of Historic Houses of Worship

 Historical ambiance can be found when taking the 24th Annual Candlelight Tour of Historic Houses of Worship. During this self-guided walking tour, significant historic worship sites in Downtown Frederick open their doors to visitors from 4-9 pm on the Monday after Christmas, December 27.  Frederick's most notable historic churches and one synagogue, many connected to the Civil War, highlight heritage and holiday customs, including bell chimes, harp ensembles, and seasonal music.  This free event invites all to admire traditional seasonal decorations and magnificent architecture.
