FREDERICK, Md. (WUSA9) -- A man is wanted in connection with stabbing another man in the stomach in Frederick early Thursday morning, Frederick police said.

The stabbing happened in the area of Third St and Market St around 2:16 a.m., according to authorities. The altercation happened on the sidewalk at the intersection. Police said the victim was stabbed in the stomach.

Both the victim and the suspect fled the area after the incident. The victim was contacted a little later at the Frederick Memorial Hospital where he was treated for his non-life threatening injuries.

Police said the suspect is described as a black man, about 5'10" tall, weighing around 180 pounds and has a beard.
