NEW MARKET, Md. (WUSA9) -- Frederick County Police are investigating a bank robbery that took place at a PNC Bank in New Market, Md. Thursday afternoon at 11717 Old National Pike around 2 p.m.

According to the initial investigation, the suspect approached the counter where he presented the teller a note demanding money. The teller complied and after receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled the scene, possibly in a vehicle.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 175-180 pounds, standing 5’8”, wearing a black jacket, black beanie hat, purple scarf and blue jeans. Security camera footage shows he had medical bandages on his face to conceal his identity.  

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 301-600-1046.  PNC is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspect. For information regarding the reward, please contact Don Inman with PNC Bank at 301-366-5027.
