2012-2013 School Calendar for Frederick County | Schools

The following information was sent to us by Cathy Menzel:

The Board of Education of Frederick County has identified Monday, August 27, 2012, as the first student day in the 2012-2013 school year.

The last day for students is June 18, 2013, which includes a 5-day cushion for snow or other emergency closings. If all 5 days are not needed, the school year will be shortened by the number of unused days to provide 180 days for students.

The Board has not yet decided the rest of the calendar.  Of particular concern is the appropriate scheduling of fall parent-teacher conferences in order to avoid interrupting consecutive days of instruction. An online survey on this topic is planned for the first week in February.
